Squash season is starting early! Box League jumps to 55 players with many changes in the boxes! Some groups of players are in a statistical dead heat and should result in exciting and balanced play for many players. New players are sprinkled throughout the ladder. Keep your squash game sharp through the summer! The Portland YMCA box leagues both run year round including the summer months. The long standing Thursday Night Drop in Clinic also continues through the summer:
Each year Pat Cosquer (Bates College head squash coach) organizes a group of his Bates College squash players to come to the Portland YMCA and give an exhibition and clinic. These young men and women do this to spread the word of college squash and because they love the game. The clinics are wonderful for asking questions and reviewing details of technique, equipment and strategy from players that play at a high skill level. This clinic involves on court participate so bring your gear and be ready to play! Members of the Bates College Squash teams will host a squash clinic at the Portland YMCA on Saturday, May 14th from Noon to 2:00pm. This year Bates College Squash teams gathered two team championships (Summers and Walker Cups) and Bates Men’s #1 Ahmed Abdel Khalek repeated as the CSA Individual Champion among all college squash players.
