NESCAC championship this weekend at Bowdoin!!

The NESCACs Men’s team championship is at Bowdoin College this weekend

The NESCACs (New England Small College Athletic Conference) are an 11 team group of really good collegiate squash teams. The Men’s Team Championships are being held at Bowdoin College beginning tomorrow, Friday, February 14th, 2020 at 5pm.

This is a rare opportunity to see great squash teams gathered here in Maine for an extended series of matches. Don’t miss it!!

Friday

  • 5pm Hamilton vs. Bowdoin
  • 6pm Wesleyan vs. Colby
  • 7:15pm Conn College vs. Tufts

Saturday

  • 10am winner of Conn/Tufts vs Trinity
  • 10am Middlebury vs. Amherst
  • 12:30pm winner of Wesleyan/Colb vs. Bates
  • 12:30pm winner of Hamilton/Bowdoin vs Williams
  • more matches at 4:30pm and 7:00pm

Sunday

  • 9:30am Consolation matches
  • Noon Championship and 3/4 match

Many of the matchups for this tournament are battling for the final rankings for the College Squash Associations annual championship and these closely matched teams will likely make or break their season based on the results this weekend. There will be many good matches and excellent squash!!

Winter in Maine is around the corner and the ever popular Maine Squash Winter League is set to bring warmth, light, fun, good times, and lively squash action to Southern Maine! Signups are now open, teams and rosters will be seeded in November and play begins in December. Sign up now as this league has wait listed players for the past 5 seasons.

Structure and schedule is identical to last season

  • 10 teams of 9 players
  • League seeds all teams
  • Your team will play on both Monday and Tuesday evenings (6pm or 7:30pm start times) but never twice in the same week
  • Your team schedule for the entire season is known in advance. Built in 2-3 bye weeks for all teams plus no league play Xmas, New Years or February school vacation week.
  • Playoffs and league championship for top 8 teams begin in early March, 3 weeks (quarters, semis, championship)
