Many changes this month as we lost players at the top, middle and bottom of the boxes. We gained players in the middle and lower parts to keep the total number at 40. With this many changes there are bound to be some boxes where people unexpectedly moved up or moved down. Play early, play hard and have fun! This winter the Portland YMCA High School squash program introduced the sport of squash to 13 local area High School students. Coached by local favorite Holly Parker, these kids learned squash and played their hearts out 2-3 times a week during the winter session. Holly was assisted by Priya and Paige, two students familiar to local squash players that enrolled in the program and acted as mentors and instructors for the rest of the group. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! Congrats to Holly for running a successful program!
This month had a large number of player changes… a total of 14 players were either added or dropped. Box 3 ended up getting split into two boxes that are all pretty evenly matched. In other cases I had to make adjustments to fit in some of the additional players.
